New Goodenough UK collection!!!

geuknewtshirts4

Goodenough Uk presents part of their new collection. It will soon be available in the usual outlets like the Hideout. The collection has an Indiana influence, which is clearly found in each design. The collection also reminds me a bit of last years Visvim collection. I must say, that I really like it. Not only screenprinted tee's. The collection has nice details and customizations.

They also intregrate their logo character. I just like when you can recognize a brand on something like a character. Nice collection. We'll let you know when its out.

The Shuttlemax by Bill McMullen!!

shuttle_4

During my visit to NYC lately I also had the chance to meet Bill McMullen, a great artist, personnally. He has done already great things. Bill has worked with Kidrobot on toys, including work on the Dunny and the 100 dollar bill stack. Remember those? Fantastic idea. He also did a lot of work in the music industry, designing album covers for Method Man and the Beastie Boys. The list is endless.

During my visit he had just received his latest toy, the Shuttlemax. Actually Bill is at Kidrobot today to launch the toy and he will also be available to sign some of them. So, if you have time, get over there.

shuttle_3

The Shuttlemax is one of the coolest toys I have seen in a long time. The idea is actually not new. Bill initially designed the Shuttlemax graphic for a t-shirt in 1999 for Swish NYC, his clothing brand. As you can see Bill is already since a long time in the Sneaker/Design world, way before it got to the popularity where we are at now.

shuttle_1

The details on the Shuttlemax are fantastic. The bottom clearly shows a sneaker sole. The Shuttlemax also has the Airmax Bubbles on the side and all other design details that the real sneaker has got.

shuttle_5

On this picture you can now see the entire Shuttlemax line-up. There will be 3 versions. The classic AirMax 95 version with the neon yellow, the Kill Bill Version and the red/white version.

shuttle_2

Actually there will be one more version... the all in yellow version which is limited to 100 and will only be available today at the signing.

shuttlemaxny

And do not forget the Shuttlemax Dunny, the commander Dunny. This one is also especially created for this project.

Really a great toy. Check it out and hurry to get ours. I am not sure if its more a toy or a piece of art, a sculpture. Just nice work!!! And don't forget to pass by Kidrobot today.

MOB update!!!

Picture 1

I am hearing all the time of how in streetwear people forget about creating nice stuff for women and that there is hardly anything out there for girls. And when you think about it its really true. The usual outcome is that the girls gotta buy the guys shit in small sizes. When you think about hot brands out there for girls....not a lot comes up... besides Married to the MOB. These girls are holding it up and are creating great stuff and hopefully inspiring others to also move into this segment. They get stronger season by season.
Now they added a sort of blog to their site and the first post is strong already. Nice pics and hot words... read it and check out the hotties behind the brand.

Adicolor @ Colette!!!

Adi6

What can I do.... there is just a lot happening over at these days. This time we show you a bit how the Adicolor launch went by at Colette. They decorated their shop windows different every day of the week. Check here the shots.

Adi8

The windows looked great. And there is a little more to it. Colette of course received their own Adicolor sneaker in the Black series. Their sneaker was designed by artist Claude Closky. In the shop window above you see on the big screen an animation of that sneaker. If you want to see the entire animation click on the image below.

Nike AF1 Hi Gore-Tex!!!

1143614557

This is one of the hottest additions to the Nike AF1 series in a long time. For once they are not only changing the design or changing color of s sneaker that has been a classic for quite some years already. Finally they take it a step further and use a new material on the AF1 in order to make the sneaker perform better. Nike now produced the AF1 entirely in Gore-Tex. That means the sneaker is water and wind proof and at the same time breathes. How great is that. On top the design also looks very nice. Nice premium brown/beige colors. Overall just a great sneaker. I wish they'd start making all of them in Gore-Tex. Pic via SNKR FRKR.

Nagi Noda @ Colette!!

A kind of pop artist with a cult following, Nagi Noda has created countless campaigns for Japanese department store LaForet. As an artistic director, she has also worked for a number of international labels including Nike in Japan and Coca Cola in London (in association with Mother Agency and featuring a soundtrack created by Jack White of the White Stripes). As a music video director, her clips created for Yuki, the idolised Japanese singer on MTV Japan, are considered an ongoing phenomenon. The same could be said for several of her short films. Often described as “Alice in Wonderland meets Emily the Strange”, Noda’s work echoes the same creative vibe as Mark Ryden, Michel Gondry or Spike Jonze, as she confidently navigates her way amid art, fashion and music industries alike. For the first time in France, her exhibition at colette will comprise assorted short films and video clips, among them the ultra-dynamic and hilarious “Ex-Fat Girl”, a fitness video featuring Japanese actress Mariko Takahashi and a host of canine accomplices.

As usual Colette is bringing something very special to Europe. Take the chance and visit Colette between the 3rd and the 29th of April to see the Nagi Noda exhibition. You will maybe only get this chance.

Justin Graham @ Atmos NYC!!!

Atmos10.032106

Today we are showing you the work of Artist Justin Graham, who is at the moment showcasing his work at Atmos NYC.

To give you the best inside into this exceptional project, where the artist combines todays sneaker culture with old masterpieces of classic music, we let the artist himself describe the background to you.

"This project to me obviously brings with it a lot of significance, and I feel that it carries more weight than simply notes drawn on sneakers. I believe that this project brings together two lifestyles and time periods that do not frequently get together, for say, tea on a Saturday afternoon. This is the result of your great, great grandmother bumping into the fresh hip hop character on the street, but instead of making assumptions they exchange thoughts, and both individuals take the time necessary to understand the other person’s point of view. This is that real, raw, classical music sound masterminded by some poor, brilliant composers, thrown together into a closed room with a material item, that we will use for this analogy to represent the out of control money involvement in the industry of mainstream music today. This project simply represents any two separate and uncommon ideas, misunderstood perhaps, which when innocently introduced, combine to create a rather beautiful work of art. "
