What is Oki-Ni ???
Many of you have heard already about Oki-Ni, but most likely only about all the great products that they come out with all the time. This time we will tell you what Oki-Ni is... the concept behind Oki-Ni and that their is more to it than you probably think.
Oki-Ni is a unique collaborative concept launched in september 2001. Oki-Ni offers unique men's and women's products designed by globally renowned brands; the rare products are exclusive to Oki-Ni, unavailable anywhere else in the world. The items can be touched, viewed, tried on and ordered from the stores in savile row - london, cruise – glasgow, d-mop – hong kong, nitty gritty – stockholm, sweden or directly from the Oki-Ni web site.
The Oki-Ni stores are designed as gallery-style spaces where the conventions of familiar retail are not immediately apparent: no cash desk and no clothing racks. though minimal, the space is full of timeless tactile materials: felt, recycled timber and stove enamelled steel. The savile row Oki-Ni store won the 2002 design week award for retail concept.
The range of clothing and footwear comes from a tightly selected stable of (unexpected) brands e.g. levis juxtaposed with cutting edge fashion labels (e.g. deep anger), presenting directional pieces not normally associated with a denim brand. The products have the kudos of globally recognised brand names, combined with the status that comes from a very limited availability of product. Familiar but Unique.
All Oki-Ni products feel like hand selected/ finished samples direct from the brands design-studio. each piece is accompanied by information pages on pads including detailed information and pictures of the particular item.
Once a customer has identified a product, the assistants can talk informatively about construction/style and the ordering process. Samples of every size and colour are available to try on, and if the customer wishes to purchase the piece an assistant sits down with a lap-top and accesses the ordering screen from Oki-Ni.com. All relevant personal credit/ debit card data is securely in-putted and the customer can then choose where their purchase is delivered. Post transaction, an impressive receipt/ guarantee is issued.
Deliveries for product take place within days from order, replacing instant gratification with a heightened anticipation. whether the product is delivered back to the store, to a home, hotel or workplace the packaging is integral in justifying your investment and patience.
